    Canon 430EX Speedlite - A Great Flash at a Great Price

    The Canon 430EX Speedlite is not the latest generation electronic flash from Canon, but it works perfectly on all the latest Canon cameras. All this and you can find one for less than half the price of the latest speedlites. This flash has an LCD display that shows you its operating range, and fully controls the camera. It also has custom functions, and offers automatic zoom to cover the lens in use, as well as bounce and swivel of the flash head. It does everything a Canon EX flash needs to do, and you can find one at very attractive prices!

    I got what I paid for I guess

    When I got it it. I put batteries in it and it didn’t work when I looked at the terminals I saw that they were covered with battery acid. I took an ice pack and scrape the tops of each of the terminals and we can put the batteries back in and then it worked. It is a nice II saw that they were covered with battery acid.     great

    I love that you can move the flash around and bounce it off of walls and the ceiling. I have found that makes better photos that way. It's amazing how much better this flash makes photos, Huge difference. It's easy to use. I took about 150 photos within an hour mostly continuous shots of 6. The flash stopped working after an hour and had to recharge the batteries. I use the same type and brand batteries I have for my camera but the flash kills the batteries a lot quicker. I have an extra set of batteries for my camera but have decided it may be good to also have an extra set for the flash. Other then that I am very happy with it.

    Excellent, well made, easy to use flash.

    Put batteries in it, attach it to the camera, turn it on and you are ready to go. I am not into messing with anything other than the auto modes and, for me, that meets all my requirements. You can set it to bounce flash for indirect lighting and redeye reduction, it takes care of everything for you. Not as powerful as its big brother, but for the everyday photographer, it is a good match. For those professionals out there, looks to me it has just about every manual setting you could ever desire.

    This is the smaller but still fully-featured flash for Canon DSLRs • Fairly compact • E-TTL shoe-mounted or indoor slave with optical triggering by: - ST-E2s transmitter - 580EX flash - 60D or 7D camera bodies • Silent recycle/recharge but audible pop when triggered • Beam zoom (following lens setting) • Tilting/rotating head for ceiling/wall bounce effects • Nice metal shoe mount bracket with quick slide lock • Back-lighted LCD screen displaying settings • 4 AA batteries • Fairly solid plastic housing • Button/interface not as easy to use but OK
