BROTHER CANE...DAMON JOHNSON AT HIS BEST
I BOUGHT THIS CD TO SATISFY MY CURIOUSITY. MY FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH DAMON WAS WORKING A STAGE CREW FOR AN ALICE COOPER CONCERT AT A SMALLER VENUE. I SAW THIS SINISTER CHARACTER BATHED IN BLUE LIGHTS. MY FIRST IMPRESSION WAS" HERE'S A POSTER BOY FOR HEAVY ROCK-THE LONG HAIR AND GOATEE WITH A FACIAL EXPRESSION THAT GAVE YOU CHILLS." THEN I HAD THE CHANCE TO MEET THE "REAL" DAMON AWAY FROM THE STAGE. I FOUND A QUIET,HUMBLE AND VERY HANDSOME MAN THAT IS NOTHING LIKE THE GUY BATHED IN BLUE LIGHTS. DAMON'S FIRST RECORD WAS A COUNTRY BAND NAMED WHISKEY FALLS. HE THEN FORMED BROTHER CANE AND THIS WAS THEIR FIRST ALBUM...NOTHING COUNTRY HERE. Love this disc its one of the best for the year it was released. Damon Johnson has an amazing voice and all the songs are well written. If you like your rock with a blues influence then you can't go past this cd. Pity this band only made 3 albums together in the early to mid 90's. Totally great musicians and a very solid effort for a first recording. Rock on Damon!
