About this product

Product Information

A Surer, Faster, Easier Way to Identify Birds At last, a guide that successfully organizes birds by field-recognizable features for quick identification. For lack of a better method, bird guides have traditionally placed birds in evolutionary sequence, resulting in birding's classic Catch-22 -- you must recognize an unknown bird and know its place in the sequence before you can took it up! All the Birds arranges species by their feeding adaptations -- features that are easily observed. How a bird feeds largely determines its form. It's nature's way of organizing species to fit ecological niches. The powerful bills and tree-climbing habits of woodpeckers, for instance, are prominent feeding adaptations. Recognizing birds' adaptations for feeding is the natural, no-nonsense way to identify; learn, and understand them.

I received the "The Incredible Discovery of Noah's Ark" book on 8 December 2023 early within the original eBay estimated delivery date of 7-12 December 2023 tightly wrapped in a poly mailer slightly different than the listing page description with some damage to the spine and pages of the book. After messaging the seller I was generously refunded 50% of the book price. The book is intact with full content. This seller made extra efforts to make this a satisfactory purchase. Thank You!

  • Birds Organized by Appearance

This guide book successfully organized birds by field-recognizable features which allows for quick identification. For lake of a better method, previous bird guides have traditionally placed birds in scientific naming classification sequencing, (ie: Order, Family, Genus, Species), resulting in a classic Birder's Dilemma: You have to recognize the bird before you can look it up in the guide. This guide, however, endeavors to arrange the bird species in a classification according to their feeding, size, habitat and etc. I have found that by doing the arranging this way helps to determine the type of bird it is and where it fits in to the creation as a whole. The only thing that this book lacks is the scientific naming sequencing. It has the Genus and Species with each bird, but if it would ...
