Original trumps the alternative!
I picked up a Netgear 8-port Fast Ethernet switch, but it came without a power supply. Each time I attempted to find a power supply rated for this switch it was either impossible to find out what the output of the units were or they were all-over-the-place in their specs. I managed to find out what the original Netgear supply specs were, but that just brought me back to the problem of all of the units that were being offered, either by design or ignorance, omitted the output in amps of the units. So I began searching for an original Netgear supply and found this one. It was used, but looked new and it works perfectly. My switch is now up and running. It's hard to beat original as supplied parts for anything. This seller advertised all of the proper specs and had excellent pictures to back ... Don't trash your wi-fi router!
Apparently, power adapters don't last forever, and between the time they are 100% working and 100% dead, they go through a phase during which they will mess with your wi-fi router. So before you dump your flaky router in the trash, re-test it with a known-good power adapter. Wi-fi routers need "clean" power, this Netgear-branded unit seems to work very well!
