Nothing like it on consoles....any console.
Great play against AI but AWESOME play via multiplayer using modem. Must have 2 PS3s, 2 copies of game, and a WiFi modem to play two player in same house but it is SO worth it. Literally the best and most unique game on any console period! I own every system and more games than I can count and I recommend this game above all others. Never plays the same way twice. Each civilization has unique abilities. Great graphics. Awesome strategy game. No bad language! Strategy - turn based gameplay at its best. Games last a couple of hours. Fine game that pales in comparison to its PC counterparts
Civilization Revolution isn't a bad game - on the contrary, it's a good game. But that doesn't seem like enough in the world of Civ Meier's Civilization. The game, on it's own is fun to play, has decent variety in challenges and difficulty, and has gotten me more than my money's worth in entertainment time. The problems exist only when compared to other Civilization Games. Civilization has long been a PC franchise and in the interest of streamlining this for consoles much of the charm has been lost. Civilization Revolution has the following drawbacks when compared to the PC versions of Civilization: Much less robust diplomacy options. Far fewer playable civs. Shallower AI. It's also worth noting that players do LOVE the multiplayer in Civilization Revolution BUT the servers for this ... Civilization Revolution isn't a bad game - on the contrary, it's a good game. But that doesn't seem like enough in the world of Civ Meier's Civilization. FUN GAME! Not for fast paced gamers! Gr8 for old skool computer style gaming
Not the best controls since it mimics the computer franchise, but its fun and super cool they made this on ps3. Reminds me of age of empires 2 that was on ps2 but a little more user friendly. A++ If youre a fast paced gamer skip this, but if you wanna waste your days away playing a slow strategic chess like game then get it now and just go with it :p

Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution for the PS3 isn't a must have for PS3 owners. It is a bit hard to get into if you're not a strategy game buff. The purpose of the game is to win in one of four ways: Domination, technology, economic, or cultural. Only one of these can be achieved per time you play and it is up to you which one you want to pursue. This is defintely not a long game (maybe 4 or 5 hours at the most PER PLAY and thats only if you extend the play) and you can even beat it in about 1 hour if you do it correctly. I personally enjoy long games so as to get my money's worth. I do have to say that you can replay this game many times and it does seem different every time if you choose to go after a different victory each time. Another good thing is the number of civilizations you can choose from (around 20) and all of them have their strengths. Also if you're a history buff there is a huge amount of historical figures that appear in the game. You can choose a civilization run by Ghandi or even Mao Zedong. There are a large number of things to do in Civilization Revolution it is just that you are only able to play and achieve one specific victory per play before you have to start an entirely new game. I emphasize PER PLAY because you can spend 4 or 5 hours building your city and fighting your opponent and then it's over and then you start another game altogether from scratch. Online features are available and this is where the game gets really fun. You can face other people online and build your own city and compete against them. This to me is much more fair than the standard computer kicks your butt mode where the higher the difficulty the more advantage the computer has. I would only recommend this game to strategy game players and not so much as to a general audience. I would tell you to rent it before you buy it because it can be fun at first but then later when you want a challenge you say to yourself "why did I buy this game?"

The Game is an entertaining strategy game, that isn't overly difficult to the point of discouragement. I am not a huge strategy player, but have found enjoyment out of this game an have played it through a couple of times. With a variety of scenarios and a variety of difficulties, it has a good playability. The computer can be cheap sometimes, so watch out for that.
