Cuts great until you hit nails.
A self sharpening chain. What will they think of next? Have used the saw quite a bit and have been satisfied with the self sharpening. A powerful product and cuts quickly. I kept the old one sharp until I was cutting older tree limbs and found a tree full of nails which make short work of my old chain. Now you know why I bought this one. Easy to use, just avoid nails.

Forget the built in sharpening device
Chain cuts well when new. The auto sharping device is a joke. After one attempted sharpening the chain cuts on an angle. Further sharpening does not correct this. I have tried three chains and they are all the same. Good cuts when new. After sharpening they can be thrown away. I recommend that anyone who has the chain with the built in sharpening device discard it an get a traditional chain, Chain cuts well when new. The auto sharping device is a joke.
