New homeowner at the age of 63 and needed some yard equipment. Didn't want to hassle with gas and the up keep. Decided on electric and wanted corded as the reviews for most of the battery stuff is pretty sketchy. This is a really good trimmer. I love the way the head pivots to make it an edger. Really easy to use and works great. My problem, as I have had the same issue with all string trimmers, is advancing the trim line. This is supposed to be an automatic feed but I have never had an automatic feed work consistently. So I have had to manually advance the string. This trimmer is really easy to advance the string manually. A little button on the side and the string advances really easily. Absolutely Best Buy ever!
Great purchase. Very well made, much better than expected, great price and came in four days. Works better than the Worx it is replacing. Came with two spools of string and an extra cap for the string which by the way broke on the Worx. Really can’t be any happier with purchase. Won’t hesitate to buy another Green Works product.

String trimmer pros / cons
The only complaint I have is my fingers aren’t strong or bid enough to get the string cap off. It is very frustrating to have to rely on someone else to do it. As far as the operation of it.... it is very good. It would be nice if you would design a better string cap system .

They had me at "Zero Carbon Footprint"
I bought this trimmer above others primarily for its eco-friendly, no gas emissions specfication. Lo and behold, the lawn looks great (love the flip for weed wacking or edging) and my garage smells like dryer sheets instead of gasoline. It's quieter than the gas engine versions, another plus. Start with a nice coil of cord near the plug and just work to the far end of the driveway. No batteries to charge, no trips to the gas station with smelly cans. Lightweight and looks pretty next to the Electric Mower I also bought from GreenWorks.
