OK receiver not up to Sony ES standards
The STR-DA2000ES is a receiver with highs and lows. It weighs very little for the power it has 120W X 7 owing to its digital drive amplifier but it is very unstable with any speaker that dips below 8 ohms, this is a problem if you use it with popular Infinity speakers many of which start at 6ohms and then dip to 4 or 2 at some frequencies. The light weight has advantages making it easy to place on a pegged shelf that otherwise would not support a huge receiver, sound is quite good and it has the legendary Sony menus, very easy to set up. Knobs appear to be much cheaper than other ES equipment I have had. Get a good deal on one and it would be worthwhile for a small theater.The STR-DA2000ES is a receiver with highs and lows.
