2nd IR in 22 years, used daily in a production enviroment.
I bought a 2131 in 1995 or 96 when IR introduced their composite impact.. I am a die maker in a production shop, I always kept it oiled and greased and used it daily. It had been dropped more times than I could count. Only issue I had was to red direction buttons needed replacing every few years as they would pop out. After 22 years it was having some trouble removing some bolts. It is now in my garage where it will work great till I die. I chose the 2135timax as it was comparable to the 2131. I bought it used as I'm 54 and it will last me the rest of my working career. I greased and oiled it up and put it to work. The previous owner likely never greased it and may not have oiled it very often as it was a bit weak right out of the box but within a couple uses I could feel this tool come ... I now know what I was missing by not having such a powerful impact wrench. I purchased it in time to help me remove the engine, transmission, and sub-frame of my 2004 Mini Cooper s. I am so thankful that I did not have to remove all of those large and long bolts using hand tools. My unit was used and it works great! I plan to purchase another as I can never go back to the junk I was using or plain hand tools alone.I now know what I was missing by not having such a powerful impact wrench. I purchased it in time to help me remove the engine, transmission, and sub-frame of my 2004 Mini Cooper s.
