Der Hape Kerkeling-Bestseller Ich bin dann mal weg in dem er seinen Pilgerweg auf dem Camino Frances beschreibt, motivier-te ihn, selbst den Jakobsweg zu pilgern. Wegen des verletzten und operierten Knies entschied er, sich als Fahrradpilger Cicloperegri-no auf den ersten Jakobsweg zu begeben. Die dabei gemachten positiven Erfahrungen uns Erkenntnisse liessen ihn nicht mehr los und er musste immer wieder auf einen Jakobsweg. Seinen 75. Ge-burtstag feierte er im Kreis seiner Familie in Santiago de Compos-tela. Am Vortag war er von seinem 10. Jakobsweg wohlbehalten dort angekommen. Nach 3 weiteren Jakobswegen als Cicloperegri-no versuchte er beim 13. Jakobsweg, die letzte Etappe zu wandern. Da dies beschwerdefrei ablief, wanderte er die Jakobswege 14 und 15. Auf den 13 Jakobswegen als Fahrradpilger auf der Iberischen Halbinsel hat er in 118 Tagesetappen 12.246 km zuruckgelegt und hat dabei 119.837 Hoehenmeter bewaltigt. Dies ergibt eine mittlere Etappenleistung von gut 100 km bei mehr als 1.000 Hm. Dazu kommen als Wanderpilger 411 km in 17 Etappen bei 8.195 Hm. Mittelwerte je Etappe sind fast 25 km und fast 500 Hm. Er uber-nachtete in einfachen Hotels und transportierte sein Gepack selbst.
