Wow, this $127 Amico, ARC 200 DC welder is amazing. OK here’s the story. I’ve been welding for 30+ years. Never had a need for a welder at home until recently. I had a small welding job to do. I thought I will buy this $127 factory refurbish welder and I’ll throw it away when I get done with this job, I don’t know how long it will last but this machine welds as good as any as I’ve ever welded with.

Very good machine for the money so far!
I'm really happy with this welder. I bought the refurb for $130 and it had some small dents and scratches, but nothing too bad. The knobs were different than pictured, but they actually look fancier than the ones in the listing, so i'm not complaining. I only started welding last year, i'm youtube/self taught, and i started with flux core wire until somewhat recently. I'm still not that great with any process, but it's all getting weldered up. :) This is my 4th welding machine during that time. lol. First, i bought some crazy generic/super no name chinese multi-function machine that blew up really quickly, but i can't say for sure that it was the machine, as i had a power delivery issue. Then i bought the 130a Amico wire welder. That thing welds well for the money, but i wanted a ... I'm really happy with this welder. Then i bought the 130a Amico wire welder. That thing welds well for the money, but i wanted a multi-function so i could try stick welding and other processes. I bought a hzxvogen mig250 or whatever it's called. I like that machine's interface and feature set, and it will weld pretty well, but i hit it's low duty cycle a few times while welding my first real project that required some more steady welding. I'm just a home welder and i thought i wouldn't mind the low duty cycle, but i was wrong. It's kind of annoying when you're trying to get shtuff done. I also don't know how long it would last if i kept working it that hard. I also found out that i wanted to practice stick welding more, so i bought this arc-200dc, since the 130a amico was such a no nonsense/hot-welding machine for the price. That machine went to a relative, but i also have an amico plasma cutter and it's "a lot of plasma cutter" for the money. I've used it a fair amount and it still works just fine. Anyways, this arc-200dc welds! I'm running it on 240v 30a, and it doesn't even break a sweat. I had to ask the seller if the fan was auto b/c i was welding 1/4" to 1/4" and the fan wasn't coming on. :) It eventually came on, but it's got lots of duty cycle to spare for my needs. I wanted something that if i ever needed to do some work for someone with it i wouldn't be standing around embarrassed while the real welding machines were still welding. I don't think i'll have to worry about that now. If you can handle a scratch or two i wouldn't hesitate to buy a refurb unit. At a $130 this is a crazy good deal. If you haven't already, look into the duty cycles of the competition and be amazed! I didn't put a meter on this to see how accurate the dials are, but i haven't had any trouble dialing in the heat, and the dig setting seems to work/help too. The amp knob is really sensitive, but it's not that big of a deal to me. If i had spent a few/several hundred more i might expect a knob with notches and more range and control, but at this price if it just keeps welding like it is, i'll be plenty happy. Also, these amico machines look much better in person than the pics on the internet, imo. You can also feel that they are made well overall, even if some plastics and readouts are a little gaudy or old fashioned. The connections for the cables are sturdy. The cables are thicker than my other machines. I'll probably get a fancy stinger for this machine and i may change the ground to a tweco, but this welds very well the way it is, so it's not mandatory right away. The power is wired for ~240v and then it steps down with an adapter instead of the other way around like many other inexpensive chinese welders. That should tell you something right there about it's (relative) proper engineering (safety, quality, and duty cycle). Time will tell how long it lasts and how amico handles component failures over time, but so far, very good. I'm uploading a picture of the trailer ball mount i just made with this machine and my amico apc-50hf plasma cutter. Please ignore any crazy welds or splatter you see. I have a least two excuses for each of those. :) Also this was made from all rusty angle and one 3" long piece of flat bar. There was no square tubing involved, so that's why there's some "interesting" design choices. :) Good luck with your amico machines!

Light yet powerful. Easy to transport. Well made good quality. Used on 115v it will handle 3/32 6013 at 70 amps, but 6011 at 90amps blows the 20amp breaker in my shop. So for me it's use on 115v is limited. But I have a 220 line in garage and it easily handles any rod at any ampage you choose. 1/8 in 7018 at 110-130 no problem. This is a great little welder. I am not a skilled welder, but I can stick thinks together and they stay stuck. You can't beat this welder for the price. Only minor negative is the stinger, it's adequate but not the star of the package....however the ground clamp is strong and well made, better than you'd expect at this price point.Light yet powerful. I admit a good level of scepticism when I purchased. I had a Thermal Arc welder that cost over $3000.00 new but it but the dirt. So, I tried this one. It welds beautifully with ease.. 110 or 220 volt, it's a champ and now my best go-to machine. Thanks so much for such a great little welder.

Excellent all around.
Absolutely worth the money. I have used a miller stickmate 160 and in my opinion the Amico is more user friendly and an all around better welder, plus 700 dollars cheaper. I honestly can't find a flaw in it yet.
