Great live album to celebrate anniversary!
This live CD (along with Dream Theater's 'Live at Budokan') is Dream Theater at it's best---tight musicianship, great varied setlist & very well produced. Many live CDs tend not to do a great band justice, but 'Score' doesn't disappoint. The first CD is chock full of songs from Dream Theater's colorful history, from the pre-'Images & Words' era all the way to the band's latest release at that time 'Octavarium.' The second disc contains the band performing the complete "Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence," the beautiful & haunting "Sacrificed Sons," "The Answer Lies Within," & "Vacant" with the Octavarium Orchestra. And finally disc 3 is rounded off by the 24 minute ... This live CD (along with Dream Theater's 'Live at Budokan') is Dream Theater at it's best---tight musicianship, great varied setlist & very well produced. Dream Theater Live in New York= awe inspiring
What could make Dream Theater even better? How about you add an orchestra to a bunch of songs! The entire second set they did with a live orchestra, this starts off with Six degrees of Inner Turbulence- the entire second CD!! How can you go wrong with this song? You really cannot! Dream Theater is just as good live as they are on the albums, the only problem that I had with the CD is that some of the song selection i have to question. The one that really had me was, why Vacant from Train of Thought and not Stream of Conscienceness? Or even In the Name of God? That would have completed the album. I will say that I would recommend getting this and the DVD! They are both worth it!What could make Dream Theater even better? How about you add an orchestra to a bunch of songs!
