Quite an amazing piece of work. If your a fan of their "Holy Mountain" album or a fan of Stoner Doom/Rock/Metal in general, this is a must have. It's just over 52 minutes of the heaviest jam session ever recorded. Music like Jerusalem is what keeps the freedom of the music alive. How many bands, especially these days, could go into a studio and jam for an hour and have it released from a label? My only complaint is not with this album but with Sleep themselfs. I wish they would have stuck together to make more gems like Jerusalem. I also would like to have another Sleep album with a batch of awesome independent songs like Holy Mountain had. Sleeps Volume 1 just isnt my cup of tea, but thank god they grew into their renoun sound. This album is a must for Stoner fans.
