    Disposable planer blades

    I bought these blades and they are not sharp enough . I bought 5 pairs and every time I hope that the next pack that I opened will be better , it never happened . The positive that I take from the experience is to avoid xcalibur products in the future and stick to razor sharp blades supplied by Appelby woodturnings , there is no comparison apart from the actual blade size . There are a few tell tale signs to watch out for , number one is the nail test , lightly run your thumbnail over blades from appelby and you produce shaving . Number two , listen to the reduced noise using appelby compared to xcalibur , Number three , feel the timber almost magnatize to the planer bed as the sharp blades bite and produce near chatter free results from handfeeding using the superior Appelby ...

    Compliment the Metabo machine perfectly.

    Fitting the blades can be complicated when following the machine guide instructions, care is needed to protect the edges, but when all is tightened down the blades fulfil all expectations in both the planer and thicknesses modes.
