    Great Entry Level DSL

Good entry level professional quality camera. Came on time with all that was promised. Have been using and enjoying since the first day. Also, found adaptor for all my old SLR (film) camera filters and lenses....

  • Great camera.

I waited a while to buy a DSLR, they are typically priced out of my range. This was a great deal with two lenses and I am very pleased with the performance. I mainly use it for action shots of sports and outdoor activities. Using the "Sport" setting with dynamic focus, I get great action shots that I used to miss with my phone or old point and snap camera. I'm still trying to figure out how to manually control all of the settings, and how to use my old SLR lenses, not so easy, that's why I give features a 4 star rating.

  • I like it for its image quality, handling, size, weight, and price.

This camera right here the D3100 is the best entry level camera anyone could get their hands on. It takes surprisingly brilliant shots. When compared to other higher series DSLRs, the immediate difference you can find on pricier cameras are their build quality and operation capability / range. However D3100 can match them to a good extend with regards to the picture quality. I like it for its size, weight, and price. Came for a good deal with an extra lens along with the regular kit lens. You can always stock up SD cards, readers, lens filters, hoods, cleaners, bags, tripod etc separately and it would be more cost efficient that way than buying a bundle. Plus you'll get what you exactly need. D3100 highly recommended if it's your first DSLR purchase.

  • Nikon D3100, Lots of bang for the buck! Great camera.

My last camera did not have the capabilities of going full manual, this one does. Manual settings allows for creativity that some of the auto settings do not. The images are very sharp, use of the camera in auto is simple if that is what you are looking for. With the proper editing software on your computer, a 200mm zoom lens becomes the equivalence of a 400mm. I take a lot of bird pictures, so the enlarging of pics is very helpful. The little pocket cameras do not give you the advantage of doubling the pic. Nikon is a well known brand and buying accessories for this camera is no problem. I have taken pictures indoors with and without the flash. I have pictures outdoors, daytime and night time. I am well pleased with the quality of the shots. My last DSLR was not a Nikon. Would I buy ...

  • Hell of a Camera

Hell of a camera. Proof that a well-made product of any kind (okay, let's stick to cameras) doesn't just have to be a flash in the pan. Newer cameras do more things, but I'm guessing they don't do the SAME things better. And, if you just wanted to rate Nikon based on this one product, they're at the top. Overall, Nikon and Canon are either tied for first place or they are #1 and #2 in either order. Nikon's D3100 DSLR is just what I wanted.
