About this product
Product Information
The final chapter in Ashok K. Banker's acclaimed Burnt Empire Saga, The Blind King's Wrath depicts the climactic battle between Krushni and her father, the Demonlord Jarsun, for the Burning Throne and the fate of the Krushan dynasty The Demonlord Jarsun is poised to claim the Burning Throne and cement his rule over the Burnt Empire. Standing in his way is his daughter, now reincarnated into a new avatar named Krushni, who is determined to avenge her mother's death by his hand--and put an end to her father's reign of terror once and for all. Aligned with him is the vast army of the Empire, the One Hundred children of Emperor Adri, and their former guru, the legendary warrior Dronas. Krushni has allies too. Also opposing the tyrant Jarsun are the children of his nephew Shvate--the supernaturally-gifted quintet known as the Five. But Krushni and The Five are vastly outnumbered, while other rogue individuals like Ladislew, the warrior-witch, serve their own secret agendas. In this final volume of Banker's epic saga of the Krushan dynasty, the land of Hastinaga will be torn asunder as the final battle for the empire rages between father and daughter, uncle and nephew, lover and enemy. And the Burning Throne will revel in the violence of it all.

PRAISE FOR UPON A BURNING THRONE " A sweeping and compelling epic, in which gods, demigods, strange powers, seers, and just plain humans all struggle for power and to make sense of their lives and fate in a world where one is never sure anything is either certain or what it appears to be." --L. E. Modesitt Jr., best-selling author of The Saga of Recluce and the Imager Portfolio series "[An] epic fantasy world full of constantly warring tribes, matriarchal societies, powerful sages that pop out of lakes, and the gods and goddesses very close to all the action. In this rich environment, various perspectives from the vast cast of characters are used to tell this immersive story from the internationally best-selling Banker." -- Booklist , starred review "Readers will hardly be able to pull themselves away from the layered story lines and well-developed characters . . . set in a vivid world inspired by India and the Middle East, mythology and monarchy, filled with enticing narration and action." -- Library Journal , starred review "Ambitious and highly readable . . . Banker (the Ramayana series) impressively depicts the loyalties and rivalries of a huge cast while moving his enormous story at cinematic pace through scales personal, political, and cosmic . . . Fans of doorstopper epic fantasy will devour this tale of gods and princes." -- Publishers Weekly " Upon A Burning Throne is a tale told with masterful control over the narrative. The pace never slackens and the story is never offered up at the altar of world-building details. Upon A Burning Throne is undoubtedly a compelling read--it is one of those 'on-the-edge-of-your-seat' novels which keeps the reader hooked right till the end. I would, therefore, recommend it to all lovers of fiction." -- A Hindu's View, "Upon A Burning Throne is a tale told with masterful control over the narrative. With fantastical creatures and settings, the politics of the novel are that much more layered. Readers who enjoyed the S.A. Chakraborty's Daevabad Trilogy and Ken Liu's ongoing Dandelion Dynasty will enjoy the complexity of story and setting of this saga." --Booklist PRAISE FOR UPON A BURNING THRONE "A sweeping and compelling epic, in which gods, demigods, strange powers, seers, and just plain humans all struggle for power and to make sense of their lives and fate in a world where one is never sure anything is either certain or what it appears to be." --L. Very fast shipping!! The seller did not list this book according to the e-bay description standards (good should have no highlighting), but the seller did say there was light to moderate highlighting in the book. I'm not sure I would agree the highlighting even fits that description as there are some pages that have more than 50% of them highlighted. Overall, still a positive experience given the fast shipping and the price.
