About this product

Product Information

Take a trip back in time through the use of photography with the Polaroid Spectra AF instant film camera, a user-friendly device that is sure to become one of your most trusted photographic accessories. This Spectra classic camera from Polaroid uses the Type 12 Polaroid color instant film format, which is also called Spectra, for vibrant images with an old-school feel that are enhanced by the built-in flash, close-up focus mode, auto focus adjustment that you can turn on and off, and exposure compensation for shooting that is easy but also high quality. There is also a self-timer for added convenience so that you can put yourself in the photo as well, and you can add a wireless remote control that allows you to trip the shutter from up to 40 feet away. In addition, get images of exceptionally high quality thanks to the Quintic lens that is featured on this Spectra model, which produces sharper, more vivid images than the type of lens that is typically seen with this kind of device. While some people use filters or special effects to create vintage Polaroid photo results, this gives you the original version for photos that are guaranteed to get noticed by others. Marketed toward professional camera users, the Polaroid Spectra AF instant film camera is just as relevant today as it was when it was first introduced, thanks to the new production of compatible film from the Impossible Project. While many early Polaroid instant cameras were designed for amateur users and had primarily automatic controls for ease and convenience, the Spectra AF system instant film camera was geared toward more advanced users. Because of this, you get much more control with this system than the earlier cameras. The optional automatic flash was a major development with this version of the Polaroid cameras because they typically had either no flash or a flash that did not have the ability to be turned on and off. You can also choose whether the focus readout in the finder displays feet or meters, and there is an autofocus on/off switch as well as an option for muting sounds. This version retains some of the convenience and ease of other Polaroid cameras, however, such as a bright red and easily visible autofocus distance readout located in the viewfinder. This durable Spectra instant film camera from Polaroid cameras stands up to wear and tear, making it the ideal camera to take with you to capture important memories with. It also folds up so that it is convenient for tucking into a bag or purse and will not take up valuable space or get in your way. In addition, this camera has a wide field of view and a sonar autofocus that sets itself quickly and is extremely sharp and accurate.

This Dobbs Fedora Hat was like New Condition except for a little blemish exactly as described. The seller also deserves praise for our communication and his business ethics. I'm happy with this purchase.

Great Polaroid - not high end, but fun and easy to use

I've been really having fun with this Spectra AF camera. It uses Spectra film that you can purchase from polaroidoriginals (dot) com. This is not a high end Polaroid camera and has a plastic lens, but it gives your photos a wonderful vintage look. Good way to re-introduce yourself to instant photography.

  • Fun, interesting item! Nostalgic!

The camera is very easy and fun to use. I love the quality and nostalgia of the photos! The manual was easy to find for free as a PDF file. Film also readily available at reasonable prices. You have to be careful when handling the film packages, they are easy to damage. If you put too much pressure, the pictures come out with thumb imprints or large portions of the picture missing. However it is completely worth the extra care. I love the quality of the images, they remind me of the pictures I see browsing through my parents photo albums. Definitely a cool, quick alternative to the hassle that can be owning a digital camera. Who doesn't love instant, tangible results!?!

  • Wide format Polaroid Pictures?... Im up for it!!

The Spectra camera is a nice system with some cool accessories like the “Close-Up Lens attachment” & “the Duplicating Stand” to spice up your Polaroid pictures. Spectra system also have basic setting you can control from the back end of the camera like flash, autofocus, sound and brightness and darkness. Polaroid Original currently sell Spectra Film for $19.99 Color & B&W I was able to find a 20+ year old smack brand new unopened Spectra, Close-up Kit & Duplicating Stand for under $65 I highly recommend this system to pros and novice or anyone who just love polaroid

  • Polaroid Spectra AF

The Spectra AF is a great vintage Polaroid Camera that takes Polaroid Spectra Film. Simple to use with advanced features including a self timer, exposure compensations, flash on/off auto-focus on/off. It collapses into a slim and easy to carry camera. It's vintage cool! The camera lens is plastic, but suitable for a retro look. The camera is powered through a battery in the Spectra film pack. No need for extra batteries. Polaroid discontinued Spectra films, but they are being made again via The Impossible Project. The Spectra film has a nice big 3.6x2.9 inch image size. Grab one while their still readily and cheaply available in ebay. Once the new film become readily available, these used cameras might be hard to come by.

  • Good for the price

The camera arrived promptly and in a nice fabric carrying case, which was a sweet touch. I wasn't expecting much because it was so cheap, and I would say the price was right in line with the quality. Took a couple pictures: not as great as a newer camera, but gives decent images. A good back-up for my other polaroid and the slightly diffused image produced is going to be great for more artistic shots. The rubber was already dried and starting to decompose and fall off, but it's expected with vintage cameras. Smelled a bit strange, but when aired out was able to get stench out. Overall good product for price.
