A Uverse gateway heads-up.
Here's a new ATT trick to be aware of. I recently moved my ATT Uverse account to a new address. I ordered a self install to eliminate the $99 install fee. So far, so good. Once the ATT tech had finished the NID work outside he came in to test the result. Here it comes. I had moved my RG, a Pace 3801HGV, that was my personal property. The tech handed me a new, different model, Pace RG. I said I didn't need it because my 3801 works fine. He said the new RG was 'just an upgrade'. A letter from ATT came about 10 days later informing me that my new 'replacement' RG was now being leased to me for a mere $7.50 per month. I immediately and loudly called bullshit. After about two days on the phone with ATT they finally said my RG had been scrapped and could not be returned but the $7.50 per month lease fee would be removed. Not satisfied yet I pressed on saying I would buy another Pace 3801 RG ($20 on eBay), own it, and have nothing more to do with their sneaky lease program. After saying I considered my old, self owned RG to have been stolen by ATT they gave up and I WON. Persist you must.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
