Since this uses a geiger-muhler tube, it also detects alpha particles, but it is very unlikely to detect x-rays. So a better description would be that it detects alpha, beta and gamma. And, of course, you cannot tell which it is. It's possible that there's too much plastic over the tube, which will absorb most alpha particles, so what you're really seeing is beta and gamma.The graph function is nice.

This was a listed price or best offer. After accepting the sellers counter offer it took the seller 3 days to ship the item but the seller shipped the item to someone else. Although the seller refunded my purchase price they kept the shipping details visible to me. They tried to say the item was out of stock but the listing is still active. In my opinion the seller was not happy with the offer they gave me, found another buyer and tried to convince me the item was out of stock
