Received as listed. Seller mistakenly shipped my books to the wrong address. Fortunately, my lady USPS mail carrier recognized the error and spoke me to verify that the box of books was meant for me. Stay safe and sound. Go eBay!

  • a great novel but when you think it twice.....

something might not be quite right. because in this novel, all the criminals, thugs, jobless guys, expatriates from all over the world, think like philosophers, talk like philosophers. the main character in this novel is a larger than life ex-con, portray vividly by the author himself, since that person was personified by himself and his own experience. 'shantaram', 'son of heaven', 'son from god', well, an australian ex-con/expatriate, who run away from the australian laws and escaped to mombay(bombay), india, gradually transformed into a mother teresa-like person, a near saint, a generous, kind and unselfish person, who wanted to help the helpless indians in the shanty town by selling drugs to get the money and the medicine. this part is so well written. then, funny thing is that he ...

  • Good Read - captivating, adventurous - true story

I got glued ever since I started reading the first page. A very adventurous journey of the author involving many characters that are starkingly dissimilar. Being a true story that happened across many countries is even more thrilling, and the events are narrated in beautiful sequence. Most impressive thing I liked is the philosopy and quotes of author and other characters that will stay with me for a long time to come. And some I will use them in my life.
