About this product

Product Information

You are a member of the Global Strike Force, a group of operatives who attempt to stop wars before they begin. In the former Soviet Union terrorist activity is building and is a threat to the world. Piloting a Super Apache helicopter players are to carry out mission objectives that include anything from destroying a target to rescuing civilians. Soviet Strike features what Electronic Arts calls a "living" battlefield. This means that the enemies will not wait and react to your actions but will be carrying out their objectives whether you attack them or not. If you fly by them without attacking they may not bother to pursue you and instead complete another objective which could cause you to fail. In total there are five battlefields that are made up of missions and sub-missions. To help carry out your objectives you are armed with guns, rockets, and missiles, plus the difficulty level is adjustable.

  • Best of the Strike games

This is the best Strike game ever made hands down, it has exclusive features for the Sega Saturn. Graphics are good for its time and the controls are spot on, also supports different types of controls.

  • Just how I remember it

Definitely brings me back! Graphics aren't as great as I remember, but what do you expect from a 20+ year old game? Overall it's fun! And has kept me busy for hours, even tho it seems to be somewhat repetitive.

  • Ups and downs to these old games

Soviet Strike was a decent game. Not a bad game for it’s day, wasn’t revolutionary by any means. Took a few tries to figure out the objectives, which can be found on the pause screen. Graphics were probably good in it’s time, but not so much now. Virtua Cop was less impressive and hasn’t aged quite as well, though I don’t have a light gun (nor do I still own an analog TV). I bet it would’ve been better with one. I will say that it is an early precursor to the awesome “Goldeneye 007” for the Nintendo 64. Was the first thing I thought of when I started playing. Graphics were very dated and blocky. I remember at the time though it was revolutionary. Robotica, on the other hand, was a really fun game. A robot-style Doom of sorts. A few issues that make the game a bit dated is the lack of a ...
