    It's "Good," but . . . .

    Destroyer Escorts of World War 2 is a reasonable book for those who would desire general information about these "trim but deadly" warships. There are a number of small errors, especially in photo captions, which are inconsistent with other sources of information. Many years ago I was asked to review/edit a copy of the 7th printing of the book when there was a possibility of a revised edition being published. Unfortunately that did not come to pass, but I still have that "note-filled" 7th printing. The book contains the listing by hull number of each vessel by their respective classes (i.e. Buckley, Edsall, etc.) but it would have been more informative if the listings included the ships that were transferred to the Royal Navy, Free French Navy and Brazilian Navy and their final ...

    Good value.

    An ebay search for Destroyer Escorts in the book category will offer quite a few choices. Warship Data WWII Destroyer Escorts seemed to be a good compromise to me in terms of cost versus content. An overview is offered as an introduction to the Destroyer Escort, followed by an overview of each class of ships produced. Enough information is included: period photos and scale drawings, lists of ships names, builder location, dates of build, and a standard paint scheme fold out page, that most any of us can be pleased enough to use this information as provided, or as the beginning of further research. A sobering section lists the ships damaged or lost and the sad tally of lives claimed.
