There's a lot to be said for having an arduino uno form factor. There are some trade-offs though. The pin outputs are not the same and i was actually completely unable to find some of them. Additionally i originally targeted this board because i wanted to use it to control a 24v led strip and i was unable to get it to function from 24 volts, despite the fact the specifications claim it can run off of it. I ended up using a second power supply. However it is a powerful board, especially compared to the Uno. For example, you can directly install WLED on this. Uno doesn't have enough memory. It also has a much faster processor and serial ports. You definitely can't knock the fact it has built-in wifi and bluetooth.

Purchased the item and programmed it as a Real Arduino UNO. The program downloaded OK but did not work. The program was good, works perfectly in the real Arduino, but the WeMos D1 did not follow suit. After much investigation and a little luck I changed the program outputs. I found that outputs D3 D4 & D5 in the program did not follow convention, but worked as D0 D3 and D4, even though programmed to work as D3 D4 &D5. I have no idea why except a poor clone.
