About this product

Product Information

Built on a new engine, Tony Hawk's Project 8 is designed to be the most complete and well-rounded game in the series to date. Tony and his crew are looking for eight promising skaters, so single-players in "Career" mode must show the pros they can grind, heel flip, and spin better than the competition. Gamers may select their avatar from one of five characters each with their own abilities and a specific trick, and then begin to complete the objectives found in each environment.

Missions range from grind challenges to bail contests, and each activity has several variations. Players may also hook-up with photographers for picture challenges that require skaters to perform tricks and follow instructions while keeping up with the cameraperson. "Puzzle" goals make players adjust the rails, vehicles, and other objects within the closed course to create a skate-able path to travel without touching the ground. A text messenger will also beep in from time to time to alert gamers to newly opened goals or contests.

An in-game feature called "Nail That Trick" allows a player to slow the action down as the character enters the air, so that gamers may create new skills or perfect old ones by using the avatar's feet to flip the board in any direction. "Nail That Trick" can be accessed at any time, and can be used to transition into the next combo. Of course, there is a "Free Skate" area where skaters can spend time practicing tricks and earning upgrades. Skill enhancing bonuses are given while players are in "Free Skate," and can increase such attributes as spins, vert tricks, grinds, and airtime. All progress can be viewed in the move chart. Players who want live competition can access the Internet and engage in two-player challenges, a new game called "Walls," and more.

  • Tony Hawk Project 8 PS2

Just like most people I lead a very busy life...working, taking care of things around the house, being a mom, a wife, and just the every day things that seem to come up. I didn't have the time to go from one store to another and try to find the things my family needed or wanted this holiday season. So shopping on ebay for the things they wanted was easy and fast. Not to mention not having to deal with traffic, the crowds of people in the stores, and maybe that product out-of-stock. Shopping on ebay made this holiday not so hecktick. The one game my son wanted most was Tony Hawk Project 8, finding it on ebay was easy and affordable. My son loves to skateboard and he has all of Tony Hawks games. The graffics are outstanding and my son says that you can basically do anything he want while ...

  • tony hawk project 8

iI bought this for my 6 year old son for christmas. He loves it! He has many other tony hawk games of coarse he needed to add this one to his collection. I have played with him and i am very impressed by this game it seems easy to pick up and start playing. You can find many cheat codes on the net to unlock various people, places, and tricks. Overall i give it the big thumbs up!

  • excellent

Any series that lasts through eight iterations is certain to have creative peaks and valleys. For Neversoft's Tony Hawk series, the best of times were represented in THPS 2 & 3 with its roughest patch coming during the THUG years. With Undergound a thing of the past and with the promise shown in last year's American Wasteland, it appeared the Tony Hawk series was back on the upswing. Tony Hawk's Project 8 features a brand new engine, built from the ground up specifically for next-gen consoles, and, unfortunately, proves that while the series has plenty of potential, Neversoft may have run out of gas. Join Project 8 Set in an expansive city that features no in-game load times and the ability to trick a line through all ten zones (should you have the skill), this is the first truly open ...

  • Hawks Vision has to be good!

Can be a little fustrating when your brushing up on your skills. But the clarity makes it your jib tricks clear. Tony has paved the way for skateboarding gaming. At one time I was in the Tony Hawks pro skater world and only time can pull you away from it. There is just know room for board um. This game could help you get over your girlfriend breaking up with you , if your bro's are sick of your snivling. Sick graphic too. Emaz1ne .....

  • Tony Hawk's Project 8 PS2 has great graphics.

Purchased this game for my 10 year old. He enjoyed it on nintendo DSXL and wanted to play it on a big screen. Plays it occassionally, not as often as I thought he would. Interset are changing but when he uses it he seems to enjoy it. He says the graphics are better on the PS2 game. That seems to be a big part of what he will play, games with good graphics.
