    Awesome!!!

Civ and xcom are the best turn based games on the market, and are a must-own for sure, I love using steam, and its nice to have all your games in one library instead of a bunch of disks.

Steam has ruined my gaming experience

I like the Civ V game play and grahics, but the fact that it has be played through Steam is very inconvenient for me. Buying a disk copy of a game I expected to be able to play it offline without ever having to be on the internet. It turns out that in order to play the game you have to first load steam be on the internet site and then you can access the game content. For someone who like to play games while not on the internet this situation far less than ideal.

  • I love the game itself but its too crash ridden and unstable to play

I love the Civilization Franchise and I love Civilization V. However, I hate the network it runs on and the frequency of its crashes. Steam is probably the worst gaming application ever. You need to have steam running all the time to play Civ V and you have to have an internet connection. Civ V also crashes every single time I play it. It used to play for a about 400 turns, but now it crashes almost as soon as I get to the main menu. I think the game play is magnificent and the hex grid and combat revisions were genius, however the game is probably the most crash ridden and totally unstable game that has been released in the last 5 years, no thanks to steam which I think is the most idiotic thing that Sid Meier could have done by incorporating it into Civ V. I'm giving this game 3 ...

  • Civilization 5 Is a Beta Release - Wait for the PATCH !

This game has great graphics and great potential. There are a lot of things I do like about this game - only problem is I am never able to finish a game before the game freezes us and crashes. HUGE problem is this game is very unstable no matter how powerful a computer you have. In some cases, the game won't play at all. In some cases when it does play, afte so many turns it sloowwwsss down and then comes to a standstill. It is obvious to many people playing this game that the company launched a game still in Beta stage and eventually the game may become great when they make enough patches for it. My strongest advice to anyone reading this is: DO NOT buy this game for at least 6 months or a year until it has been fully patched and fixed or you will have problems. If ...

  • 8.5 Best turn based game yet!

Civilization 5 is the latest and greatest in this genre. They bring together many of the best elements of past games into one. Adding in updated graphics with a large tech tree makes for an enjoyable game. Graphics: Much improved over past civilization games. Game play: Decide how you want to win. Win through war or by peaceful achievements. Choose your leader accordingly as they have special abilities that will help you achieve your goal. There is a lot going on at one time with in your own borders. Fortunately there are pop up advisors to help you understand what is going on. You can choose to listen to/read a short paragraph of what they have to say, or simply close there window and go on your way. Pros: Better combat system is now based on strategy. Core game ...
