    It's fine

It takes a tiny bit of engineering to make it useful: Heavier base, better nut and bolt for main clamp, I had to epoxy the stud into the base as the hole was a bit large. But all this takes but a minute and little/no cost. It is usable right out of the box, and a pretty good value for thee small price.

Poor quality -shipping same price as item

I purchased this to put sterling charms on my bracelet and my husbands use when working with resisters; IT IS NOT man-friendly.. It is so cheaply made that only functionality is the stand-up magnifier which is weak (4X). The finger space is small due to the 2 1/2 inch space between the arms and magnifier; there just isn't any work room. The magnifier is too small for the holder brackets and the screws easily loosens after one adjustment; the weighted bottom does not have enough weight so little stability. BEWARE! They offer FREE SHIPPING on this product but return cost was the same amount of purchase price of $6.93 - GOT-CHA sale! The company shipped fast but when arrived, there was nothing in the package except the magnifier; NO PAPER WORK. I requested their return procedure and told to just ship it back. Using paper, I filled out the purchase and Item number, along with my information and went to drop it off at the post office, only to walk out when told the price to ship back.

  • Helping hands

I use this to solder wires, although you can probably fabricate something yourself, this was too inexpensive to pass up. It could however be made with a larger heavier base to to stay put. So I use large spring clamps to clamp it to the edge of the table so nothing moves. It does what it is designed to do with slight mods.

  • Unexpected challenge . . .

This item arrived on time, but it came in pieces. Looking at a picture, it was somewhat easy to put together, so for the price, I would say it was a good value. Considering it is made of metal, the quality is there. If you are good at puzzles, I definitely would recommend.

  • Nice piece for the money

It's a great helping third hand. Don't espect to use it with big stuffs. I use it for repairing cellphones boards and it does a very good job holding them. Nice product, just try to add a little more weight to the base to make it more stable. Regards

  • Good value for the cost.

In the pics it appears larger than it actually is, but it is sufficient for light assembly work and handling smaller "grip" applications. The base is not all that heavy, thus stable, and I drilled 2 holes in the base arms to secure it to a larger surface by means of 2 screws.

  • HELPING HANDS

Smaller than expected, but not teeny tiny. I have used it several times to hold parts of eye glasses. I am an Optometry Tech. I like it over all. Good value.

  • PERFECT FOR SOLDERING IN THE SHOP

The base is a nice heavy cast iron ( a magnet will stick to it) so it will NOT tip over easily. The magnifying glass I am extremely happy with. It is a high clarity glass (NOT plastic) with good magnification and is the perfect size for doing soldering and I can see perfectly what I am soldering. The mechanisms that hold the clips and glass are easy to adjust and more importantly once adjusted stay put and do NOT slowly droop away with time.

  • Magnifying glass

This is a very small device. I’m not sure if folks with normal sized hands and proportions can utilize. Check the measurements and don’t assume. I tried to make a makeshift attachment to a swing arm light but this wasn’t successful. So much for fine detail painting.

  • Works great for me.

For the price it's great. I use it to solder terminals on wires. From some of the negative reviews I did question quality but I would still buy.
