Really nice looking piece of equipment and seller processed order very quick. The thing is, for over $700 I expected quite a bit more. It comes no where close to the performance of my old super cube 4000 ( similar size, price, & power ) the app controlled dsp makes little difference as opposed to the Def Tech that came with it’s own remote that made obvious changes. I need to try some other placement options, but the 3 go to locations haven’t impressed.

    Yamaha Natural Sound lives on!

    Wonderful 2 channel stereo sound with loads of power (100 watts per channel), lots of inputs (phono, optical, CD, 3 line, tuner, bluetooth with adapter), talented remote and Pure Direct signal path. Sounds great and runs cool. Handles 4, 6, 8 ohm speakers with ease. See Audioholics youtube review of A-S801 (minor differences such as DAC but very informative). Yes, add a touch of glow-in-the-dark paint on the Volume dial so you can see the level. Otherwise sit back and enjoy. Yamaha top end quality in a mid-price range. Cheers!
