    Arrived quickly. I mounted this antenna on a trunk lip mount and tested the SWR on both bands. On VHF the lower end 144 mhz SWR is at 1.1 and the high end 148 mhz SWR is 1.3. On UHF at the lower end 440 mhz is 1.2 and at the high end 450 mhz 1.3. I am satisfied with this antenna's results.

      Versatile, small and light antenna...a good bargain

      This antenna has good bandwidth and can cover a wide variety of uses. Analyzing it, it had good SWR on 2 meter amateur, MURS, 440 amateur, and GMRS. The antenna is lightweight and small. It can mount on a relatively small magmount easily. Performance is almost identical to the Tram 1181. The main difference is the BR179 has a closed coil that is a bit less noisy when driving. All in all, a good value and a versatile use antenna.
