The Boss NS-2 gives you a guitar effect pedal that is both powerful and efficient. This guitar pedal was designed to create tones with noise suppression effects. The Boss NS-2 frees up your creativity for when you need to reduce the noise from your guitar such as buzz from the input signal or excessive noise from high-gain channels. The Boss NS-2 noise suppressor gets rid of that annoyance without compromising the sound that you expect to hear from your guitar. The device uses a unique circuit that is designed to detect noise in order to deliver the guitar's natural sound. It features threshold and decay knobs that allow you to easily customize the suppression amount based on your desires and needs.     Good Product, But Boss Is Dumb

    I love the pedal. I find it rather stupid, however, that Boss does not include the inexpensive power adapters with their products. So, go buy the adapter or you'll be replacing the 9V battery constantly. Note - Boss of course states to only use their power adapter. Howrver, you can save about $20 by buying a different adapter with the exact same specs and you'll have zero problems.

    Industry standard!

    Great noise gate and can be found relatively cheaply. It’s a great pedal with different routing options on how you want to use it. A must have for high gain amps, or even single coil pickup users to cut out pickup noise. Can’t go wrong!

    Wonderful pedal

    This is a modded NS-2 courtesy of Alchemy Audio. Magic might be too strong a word for how well this pedal works, but not by much. Its simply amazing; cuts the hiss right out of the sound when the boost, compression and/or OD pedals are engaged. Strongly recommended. The pedal costs $100 and Alchemy charge $50 for the mod; I bought this one for $75, used but who cares. The LED's are very, very bright - might need to put some tinted transparent stuff over them as I have with another Alchemy pedal - no biggie. Amazing value.

    Awesome

    I know i always say that. This noise gate is a sign from God. It cleaned up my Randall amp and made it sound a million times better. Boss has always been good, and we all drool over chorus, distortion, and other stuff, but without a good noise gate, it just doesn't matter. It was a little road worn, but the listing said as much. Luckily Boss pedals are road worthy. I would recommend this to anyone. There may be better ones out there, but never at the regular guy price range.

    Much needed mods

    Not to say the stock version is bad, but this mod takes the original to a studio quality level. When dealing with noisy amps that make it difficult to edit in the recording process this Alchemy Audio mod is the perfect choice. The sound and note definition remain intact and the unwanted noise is removed. Transparent and clean noise suppression. Worth it.
