The coil 397358 for my old Briggs and Stratton 5hp worked great. All I did was clip two wires. 1. the kill switch wire and attach to the coil. 2. The wire that goes to the points and just leave it. 1960’s roof mower works flawlessly!! Very easy!! Saved me $35! Fantastic seller!!!! I will be buying more of these in the future. Thanks so much :)

check the mounting dimensions
It works good but I had to elongate the bottom of the mounting slots about 1/4" to make it fit. So considering the work I had to do to make it fit I'd say it is not a good value
