Very great procccesor and i can say that its worth the money if you got it.. I tested it on games and i can tell you this right now that anyone saying that this processor wont do any good on single threaded performance doesnt know what there talking about hands down it completely demolished certain benchmarks i ran on certain games and i compared it to a 6700k along with a 7700k.. The 7700k did beat out the 6950x in a couple game titles, but nothimg you would notice during gameplay l.. All im getting at it will hold its own on single threaded performance and low utilization core count on certain games.. So if your into games itd way more than enouph to satisfy your needs, but i can also say this that if you do alot of game streaming the newely released ryzen 1800x is the way to go kust my two cents NOW for working use you cant go wrong with it extremely fast file encryption multitasking you name it it will do it extremely fast and most importanly without error and you will get your moneys worth out of it bottom line In conclusion i would highly recomend this processor to anybody that has the money tp buy it . I managed to get a nice 4.5Ghz Overclock on this with my Be Quiet! 190w TDP air cooler. Running at 1.25Volts, I feel like I have gotten a good chip and makes a huge boost in productivity and great for gaming in Total War Shogun 2 on ultra. (W/GTX 1080 Ti) Other than the practical uses of video rendering, gaming, and streaming. It just feels nice to have an eXtreme edition CPU for bragging rights around your buddies.

Installation of this cpu into an existing computer took about an hour, that included cleanup of the system. After some BIOS adjustments the cpu performed "better than excellent" both at the native speed of 3 GHz and at 30% overclock. I will never regret this purchase!!

It’s awesome for being a 4 year old product, this is a brand new item, just old tech, it runs DDR 4 ram in quad channel & has worked great since day one. I have it overclocked to 4ghz, it’s been running around 30-32C in normal usage & 38-42C under load, I’m only running 1.18 volts to the CPU, I have seen other have run more, so I guess I did good on the luck of the draw. Still a fast processor & able to run all current software & hardware. Got mine stable at 4.3 GHz. I notice the boost from my 6800K, that I barely had stable running at 4.2 GHz. Still a powerful chip in 2020. Like I said in the title, recent microcode updates from Windows have broken overclocking. It’s a simple fix, which entails renaming a file called mcupdate_GenuineIntell.dll, after taking ownership of it. Google it.
