    Flux core, flows very well

    Lucas' flux core rod works great, it easily flowed between pieces and created a very strong bond (used AL822 on aluminum). Just follow instructions, great results. Also the plastic container the rods come in make for handy storage. Since i don't use a lot of brazing rod there is no need for me to fabricate nor buy a rod storage container.

    Best aluminum repair that I have found, bar none.

    Practice a little with this stuff- it is amazing. It is WAY better than other aluminum soldering products. Recipe for success: Clean your aluminum really good. Apply heat to repair area. Quickly rub the rod across the repair area from time to time to see if it's hot enough. Once it leaves a trail of melted rod, back off the heat a little, but not totally. Make for dang sure you have ZERO pressure inside any tubing you are repairing. Leave shrader valve cores out completely. Aluminum oxidizes extremely fast at high temps, so try to get at least a thin film of this filler rod onto the repair area asap. Practice first on some scrap pieces. This stuff is by far the best aluminum repair product on the market that I have found. The key is to practice on scrap first. You will get the hang of it. ...

    Works great

    I used this for my home-made heater for my tractor cab. The oil coolers I used were aluminum, and I needed to connect it to copper pipes used Map gas and had no issues. I used part of one rod, so I have plenty left.
