Early Nyuk-yuks with Moe, Larry and Curly
For anyone who is an avid fan of the Three Stooges, or if you enjoy reminiscing about early movie films, this DVD is a "must have"! Included in the collection are 6 shorts, three of which are in technicolor. All of these were released in 1933 & 1934, when the Stooges worked at MGM with Ted Healy, and prior to the ever popular Paramount shorts. One of them, "Roast Beef and Movies", features Jerry (Curly) Howard in a solo effort. Another, "Hello Pop!", was thought to be lost forever until a last-known print was discovered in 2013 in Australia. The other four shorts are: "Plane Nuts", "The Big Idea", "Beer & Pretzels" and "Nertsery Rhymes". All of the shorts feature Curly, who replaced brother Shemp who had gone on to a solo career. The 3 Stooges at MGM.
So nice to see these first 2 reelers of Ted Healey and the 3 Stooges. A rare find. If you love Curly, Larry, and Moe. You'll dig this. Ted Healey was quite a performer. It's a shame that he got beaten up in a street fight with some college yahoos who ganged up on him. He really was a natural actor. I really enjoyed this collection of shorts.
