The PetSafe Transmitter is a safe and effective way of containing your dog. This transmitter uses buried wires to emit a signal to your pet's receiver (not included), to deliver a mild shock if your dog goes beyond the boundaries of the fence. This correction is geared to get your pet's attention, but not harm him in any way. The PetSafe Transmitter will work with any Underground PetSafe Collar and can accommodate an unlimited amount of pets. Wires, flags and receivers required, but sold separately. Great System Great Value.
We have had several of these in the 30 years we have lived in our house. They really work. I have two Brittany Spaniels that are the smartest dogs I have ever had. They know when the batteries are low on their collars and have "ESCAPED" from the yard then. but only a couple of times. I strongly suggest that you upgrade the wire to a heavy duty wire which you can get. The reason I say this is that we have deer and they would step on the wire and their hooves would make a cut in the wire. We haven't had that issue once we replaced the wire with the heavy duty wire. I also suggest a having a backup system on hand in case your currents one gets by lightning or is subjected to a strong power surge. You can also get the surge and lightning protectors. it works super when purchased with the heavier duty wire from the big box stores.
This one was purchased to replace one I had for the last 10 years. Some family member put a weighted article on the plugin in our garage & broke the connection inside. We have a border collie who checks to see if it isn't working each week, daily, hourly & if not working he is gone. We have more than 2 acres, but he really likes visiting neighbors, & 2 acres are not enough for him. Yes, we had to use the stubborn dog collar on him, too. This is the only thing that has kept him in & still allow him to run & chase things a border collie needs each day. He is still a runner at 11.
