The bottom layer was protected by a single sheet of newspaper and a single layer of bubble wrap in a tightly packed small box. Three of the mugs were badly broken with handles and cups in pieces. Thankfully the remaining 9 make an excellent display and I am very pleased they survived the shipping. great stuff at a great price.
