    more red than violet but still pretty

    So your hair won't be as violet as the box shows (but does your hair ever actually match the box aside from when you color you hair black?), but it's about the most intense color you can get without bleaching your hair. The color ends up being more on the red side, but with hints of violet. Still very pretty. The color stays vibrant in my hair for about 3 weeks.
