    A unique product, but bittersweet quality

    Metra 99-7803G is a compromise. 'On paper', it sounds like it is the total answer to upgrading from the oem head unit. Pros: Finish & looks blend in very well with the dashboard. Moves your aftermarket head unit to a comfortable viewing level in the dashboard. Metra's replacement HVAC controls look/blend in well. Cons: The supplied instructions, lack a lot of detailed information on installation & HVAC operation. The supplied wiring harness was the cheapest quality I've seen from Metra in 30+ years (the pins actually bent in the connector). The price is too much for what you actually getting. A fair price would be around $120 shipped. Given the R&D cost, I understand that it's not going to be less than $100, but if they were to put in a little more effort into the instructions & a better ...

    Overpriced but works well.

    The product fits well and everything seems to work well. I installed in a 2005 Honda Accord, not duel AC. My only criticism is that it seems expensive for what you get and I have some concern that the plastic sleeves that hold the music unit will not hold up over time. We'll see. If that could be made of metal, it would inspire more confidence.
