Kitbash material
Athearn's 50' flat car is a "fair" base for kitbash projects. Two of it's shortcomings is it's actual length is only 48' (it was based on their already too short gondola). This was doene so they can share common underbody components. The other is the brakewheel stand. There was no flat cars of this design that ever had the side mounted brake wheel stand. On the plus side it can be cut down to a more prototypical length without rearranging the stake pockets. It can also be used with another flat car to build a car 50' or longer without sacrificing stake pockets. The price is right.
