  • Great camera

I've been shooting with a couple of D7000s for 10+ years. Stepping up to the D780 has been so much fun. It's loaded with features which are useful in Auto or Manual modes. Plus the upgrade from cropped frame to full frame and almost doubling the pixels, it has been a huge jump in my work.

  • Nice, easy and great results.

Previously used Nikon F3 for ten plus years. The D780 is much lighter, quieter and produces a beautiful image. Creates nice at high iso settings with no flash. I was able to create a setup to use a remote to fire both the camera and external strobes. D780 has a video settings which is new for me but am looking forward to utilizing it.

  • D780 was a game changer for me

I bought the D780 to use in addition to my D810. I'm VERY pleased. Live view with continuous on sensor phase detect autofocus and eye detect is a game changer for portrait photography. The silent shutter is amazing for creating time lapse movies without wearing out the mechanical shutter. Focus peaking works great for my manual focus lens collection. 4k oversampled video quality is outstanding and if you are willing to give up the oversampling the digital image stabilization makes a big difference in hand held video smoothness on lenses without image stabilization. Because I use a D810 I was concerned that I wouldn't be happy with pixel acuity on the D780 due to the antialiasing filter on the sensor. Turns out the filter only works in one direction and is pretty weak, so pixel level sharpness is outstanding. Low light performance of the sensor is excellent. Smaller and lighter than my D810. I can't say enough good things about it.

  • The 780 is a Beast!

I have loved shooting the D750 for the last three or four years. Any complaint I had regarding anything to do with still or video has been answered, almost like a prayer! The 4K and new focus tracking on this camera is awesome, the boosted ISO is a nice bonus, and the camera feels even better in your hands. I’m a happy shooter.

  • Worth moving to the D780 from the D750

Amazing camera. Had a D750 & it was getting a bit old from heavy use & wanted the D780 for a while. So glad I was finally able to buy it . Great image quality . Auto focusing using the optical viewfinder is also better than on the D750

  • Another great Nikon!

This is a great DSLR! Much improved over the D750 and it was clearly better from the first time out with it. Yes it's costly but it's worth it.I would add photos but files are too large. The video quality and speed of focus lock are excellent, the live view is amazing for photos on a tripod setup.

  • Had higher hopes.

Made the move from older D600 for better ISO and video capabilities. Love the tilting screen, though.

  • Another Nikon success.

Quality imaging now brought into the modern age. Capable of 4k streaming. Much more affordable than the D1x, originally $5700.

  • Nikon D780

I really like the D780 since it’s similar to my D7500. The only small complaint that I have is its weight. Great camera that I‘ll have for years (hopefully).
