A serious contender
Ok. Here’s the deal. WOW! The Sony HT-A9 is an amazing system. I had been looking for a sound bar system for quite some time. I was a bit hesitant about the systems because I wasn’t really sure I wanted to commit to an actual sound bar. Then this came along. This is classed in the same group without being a conventional “sound bar.” Most of the higher end systems are not cheap. I was lucky to score a really good deal, but in all honesty after using it, I would even recommend it for a higher price. Most of the reviews I read recommended getting the subwoofer with it and it IS impressive, but even as a stand alone, it does not disappoint. So if the budget doesn’t allow for the cost right out of the box, you can always upgrade later without being disappointed about not having it (yet...LOL). Also, it was very easy to setup. I am using it with a Sony XBR55930E and I really love that model. I know there are many newer models, but I am nowhere near ready to upgrade. The point I’m trying to make here is that it connected without any problems and I’m really pleased with it. I’m sure you will be too. Best soundbar replacement
Everything sounds great. From music to Movies. One of the best Dolby Atmos experience you can have without ceiling mounted speakers. If you didn’t know, you would think it has 7 to 12 speakers. If you never had a dedicated Subwoofer, you might be able to get away with out adding one. Otherwise I highly recommend adding the SA-SW5 SUB. Setting it up is a breeze. Just place the speakers where you want plug the control box in, power it on.. it just sets everything up with in 5 mins.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great no fuss home theater, excellent sound
Works great! Not one drop out, but I do need to add the sub. I have small living room and does produce okay bass but the sub will add more depth, that will be next purchase. I had a Vizio elevate sound bar and the sound separation was lacking, and the subwoofer bass was over powering for regular TV. Watching the news/local TV there was always rumbling, so you would have to turn the sub volume down to lowest and then everything was tinny sounding. This price makes it a deal for what it is.
