solid trunk rack
I purchased this rack to transport an expensive mountain bike. I like the way it solidly mounts to the trunk of my car with 6 straps and the rubber feet that contact the car do not mar the finish. The rack is made of composite material so is very light and has a good range of adjustment so will likely fit many vehicles. My bike has a non straight top tube so requires a bike bar from the seat to stem for mounting. Once the bike is on the rack I needed to use an extension on the stabilizer strap to get it to lock. I also padded the rack where it contacts my bikes finish maybe not necessary but better safe than sorry. I use two additional straps (not provided) to secure the wheels. Once all is done the system is solid and I have used the rack on winding roads and freeways with no issues. This is listed as a two bike rack but I would not recommend it for two heavy bikes like mountain bikes probably would be fine for road bikes although there may be issues with the bikes rubbing on each other. Bottom line this is a decent rack at a good price best used for transporting a single mountain bike on an occasional basis. It is not as easy to use as a good hitch rack tray setup would be but it is a fraction of the cost especially if your vehicle does not have a hitch. If you just need to transport a bike once a week or so I think it is a good choice for a trunk rack and I am happy with my purchase.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good Rack but I'd reccomend going with a trailer hitch rack instead.
Excellent quality and workmanship, does exactly what is advertised. It's only shortcoming is that it can not be locked to the car and where I bike that is a necessity. I have to remove the rack and lock it in my trunk while riding. Then reinstall it afterwards. If at all possible go with a hitch mounted rack.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Saris Bones 2, Great bike rack
Honestly, at first I was worried with this type of bike rack that mounts to your trunk but I had to try it. I’ve taken this bike rack on crazy mountain roads with some crazy speeds and it’s held up really great and it fits great on my 2015 Civic Si.
