The story starts with preparation and evacuation, moves through the stresses of being displaced and not knowing the wereabouts of loved ones or the condition of one's home and belongings, and ends with a message of the persistence of hope. Reona Visser, a 5th grade teacher at Coast Episcopal School, while driving in bumper-to-bumper traffic away from the approaching Katrina, was compelled to create a book about this devastating storm. The result was 30 young children collaborating on collages that create this beautiful account of that terrible day in Aug 2005.
