    Echo CS400

    I paid $300 for my CS400 in 2008. I have probably chopped up 50 trees since then and this chainsaw (made in Japan) has worked great. Recently the chain has jumped off the guide a few times. The sprocket on the clutch drum was scored in the center about 1 mm deep and on either side of center just slightly. I figured it was the problem so I replaced it. It has not jumped the guide since. Replacing the guide may be recommended but I do not see any issues with it. NOTE: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE THE DRUM BY SPINNING IT COUNTER CLOCKWISE. YOU CAN SCREW UP THE SPRING IN THE PULL CORD ASSEMBLY.
