    Gilgamesh is Gigantic! A great read for those interested in history, mythology, and where a lot of ideas came from.

    Enjoyable Poetic Re-creation

    This translation is more of a creative performance, rather than a literal or scholarly translation, though it is informed by a knowledge of the scholarship. Mitchell, as a poet, re-creates the feel of this ancient poem and gives it dramatic sweep that makes it an enjoyable read.
