They came in new condition and are a very sleek replacement for older shifters/brakes. Very happy with this purchase, a very affordable way to replace my old 3x8 shifter without having to replace my brake levers with something else. It comes with a shifter cable, which would otherwise require you to open the shifters themselves, so a lot of effort is saved. The brake cables are easier to work with. Very pleased
