old model but useful
The sony dvd recorder did indeed work for my recording purposes for about 2 weeks and did not perform anymore after that. The recorder's model is 7 years old and was not compatible with my sony 4k camcorder. It was worth a try to order the same model recorder that I had previously owned. Once the owner's manual is read, this product is easy to use. On-screen menu's are easy to follow, and the end result of a burnt disk is outstanding. Multiple recording speeds are available in the dvd mode, but only two recording speeds available in the vcr mode. The most outstanding feature of this product is the ability to record either from vcr to disk or to from disk to vcr. Hook-up is easy to follow with a quick start guide.
