I don't know if it's new housing or not but the strap, case and dial look brand new and the hands even have a bit of lume on them. The original movement has so far been very reliable and it's nice to be able to view the movement through the back window. It's nice to be able to own a piece of Soviet watchmaking history. I also appreciated the extra leather watch strap that the seller included in the packaging.
