It is very light in comparison to my current dedicated metal detecting shovels. About two pounds lighter to one that I use that is incredibly close to shape, size and root cutting sides. It might be only a couple of pounds lighter but when you couple that with some carbon fiber shafts on your detector you end up with a weight savings that help when out for several hours. Well worth the money.

Additionally, it is 3 inches taller than most. Being a tall man it makes a difference, no bending down to dig. One other thing, it is $30.00 to $50.00 dollars less. A nice looking tool.
