    More effective than digital white noise

    The Dohm is the closest thing I've found to recreating the sound of an actual fan or heater without altering the temperature of the room. I find it way more effective than white noise apps or "machines" that use a digital loop. Those digital tracks don't have the same low-end pitch that an actual motor has; the frequencies are too high, and my brain also detects the loop point, and all of that just keeps me awake. The Dohm is better in those respects. It's not perfect—it still lacks the low hum of an actual fan motor and has more of an echoey whooshing sound. Sounds nitpicky, but if you're an audiophile and/or a light sleeper, these details matter :) I've gotten used to its particular sound; now the only problem is that I have hard time sleeping without it.

    The original and best noise machine

    Great product. I already had a white noise machine in the past, but it went into my daughters room a couple years ago, ang I was using a noise machine phone app, but it didn’t work as well at all. This works so much better and I am back to sleeping so well! Highly recommend!

    marpac sleep machine

    If you like the sound of a fan to sleep by, but don't like all that air its blowing around then the marpac 980 is just the ticket. It has two settings, hi and low, even on the low setting it is loud but it sure beats a fan.

    Excellent product

    We bough this to "augment" (in another room) the model I purchased in 1994. It functions equally as well as the "original" and has a secondary (faster) speed setting. We can't sleep without it!
