About this product

Product Information

This release is based on the epic Tolkien trilogy that defined the fantasy genre for all works before and since. The player follows the journey of Frodo Baggins, the small and unassuming hobbit who is fated to save or doom the world of Middle Earth through his actions in a quest to destroy the Ring of Power he carries. Great heroes and mighty adventurers join Frodo on his journey in the hope that their guidance and protection may help deliver the young hobbit safely to his great destiny.

J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings: Volume 1 can feature up to four human-controlled characters on the screen at once. Though the use of the Super NES Multiplayer Adaptor, four gamers can join together as Sam, Aragorn, or even Gandalf, each controlling his own character to help Frodo on the long and arduous journey to destroy the One Ring. A built-in "save" feature allows gamers to complete the long adventure in multiple sessions

Time to go on an adventure!

Awesome game. A great throwback to my younger days hanging with friends and wishing we were on the journey for real.

  • lord of the rings snes game

this is a alright game for snes. its not as bad as the reviews Ive seen on Youtube for it. but theirs still a lot of wondering around and getting lost, and thats prittey earitating. when your in a dungeon you find maps that do absolutley nothing, except allert you to the fact that your near a entrance, prittey usless hu, this game really needs maps to because the game scape is so huge and easey to get lost in but their arent aney . but other than that it seems like a pritty good game.

  • 8 bit

It's an 8 bit rpg, what else can really be said. For the time it's a really good game, if you're a Lord of the Rings fanatic it's a must have, or if you just really love RPG games. Other than that if you're not a collector I can see no reason to get this game when great RPG's like Mass Effect are available.
